Tenor Clef Note Names

The examples below show the names of notes for music that uses the tenor clef, which is used most frequently by the bassoon and cello. Like the alto clef, the tenor clef is also called a C-clef. One way to determine the names of the pitches in the tenor clef is to remember that the middle of the clef is the pitch middle C.
